These terms set out the conditions for using Bonsai Karte (“the Service”), provided by SOLVLET (“we”). By registering for the Service, you agree to these terms.
How we handle the information you entrust to us is described in the Privacy Policy. Please read it alongside these terms.
One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your email address and password safe. We are not liable for damage arising from someone else using your account.
If you wish to close your account, contact us at the address at the end of these terms. On receiving your request we will delete your account together with the records and photos you registered.
If you are on the paid plan, closing your account cancels the subscription at the same time, and we do not refund the rest of the period you have paid for. If you would rather use the plan until that period ends, cancel first from the account page and write to us once it is over.
The free plan covers one tree. Subscribing to the Enthusiast plan (5 US dollars per month; 500 yen including tax when you subscribe in Japanese) removes the limit on the number of trees. Trees whose status you set to “Deceased” or “Sold / given away” do not count toward the limit.
Payment is by credit card through Stripe. You pay for the first month when you subscribe, and the subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Stripe holds your card details; we never receive them.
If you have a promotion code, you can enter it on the checkout page hosted by Stripe. Applying a code makes the fee discounted or free for the period set on that code. Once the discount period ends, the regular price (5 US dollars per month; 500 yen including tax when you subscribe in Japanese) is charged automatically from the next renewal date, unless you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from the account page, including during the discount period. If you do, you keep the plan until the end of that period and nothing further is charged. Each code has a limited number of uses and an expiry date, and can be used once per person (one account). We may stop handing out codes without notice.
You can cancel at any time from the account page. After cancelling, you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund a part of a month when you cancel mid-period.
If you return to the free plan while holding more than one tree, we do not delete anything. You simply cannot add new trees; everything you have recorded so far remains readable.
If we change the price, we will announce it on this page and by email at least 30 days in advance. If you do not accept an increase, you can cancel before it takes effect.
The work logs, photos, and tree details you register are yours. We do not use them in advertising or hand them to third parties. We handle them only as far as running the Service requires — displaying them to you and keeping backups of the records.
Do not access other people’s accounts, place an excessive load on the Service, upload content that breaks the law, or reverse-engineer or copy the Service to offer something similar.
If we find such use, we may suspend the account without prior notice.
We may suspend the Service temporarily and without notice for maintenance or to deal with a fault. If we decide on a long suspension or on closing the Service, we will tell you by email at least 30 days beforehand. If you contact us before the Service closes, we will hand over the records and photos you have by then.
The suitable months and repotting dates the Service shows are general guidance. A real tree depends on its species, your region, the weather that year, and the state of its pot. We are not liable for the outcome of following the dates shown. In the end, judge by the tree in front of you.
Except where we have acted intentionally or with gross negligence, our liability for damage arising from your use of the Service is capped at the fees you paid over the preceding twelve months.
These terms are governed by the law of Japan. For any dispute concerning the Service, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance.
